The Akure Bankers’ Committee has slated Sunday, December 8 for its end of year celebration at Rubby’s Court, Oke Ijebu, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The event will be chaired by His Royal Majesty, Oba Olu Falae CFR, GCON, King of Ilu-Abo, with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State as distinguished guest of honour.
Mr. Giwa Samuel Ademola, Chairman of the Akure Bankers’ Committee and Branch Controller of the Central Bapoonk of Nigeria (CBN), will present the economic outlook for 2025, drawing from insights provided by CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso.
A major highlight will be a keynote address by Prof. M.A. Adewole, who will provide an indepth analysis of the recently introduced banking recapitalization policy.
The policy, mandated by the CBN, aims to strengthen Nigeria’s financial sector by increasing the capital buffer of banks.
Adewole will discuss the implications of this policy for Nigeria’s economy and its role in fostering sustainable growth and financial stability.
The celebration will also feature the presentation of awards, including the Best Customer-Focused Bank in Ondo State, as well as prizes for excellence in female table tennis and male football.
The event offers a unique opportunity for stakeholders in the banking sector to network, exchange ideas and strengthen relationships, while it emphasized the critical role of the banking industry in Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
