Align With God’s Will Over Asagba’s Emergence – Christian Group

  • Holds Prayer Outreach For Peace

The Asaba Interdenominational Christian Association, in collaboration with the Ugbomanta community, organized a significant prayer outreach aimed at interceding for peace, order, and divine guidance in the selection of the next Asagba of Asaba.

The event, which took place just before the recent emergence of the Asagba-designate, Obi (Prof) Epiphany Azinge, brought together various Christian denominations united in their plea for God’s intervention in the succession process.

During the outreach, Rev. Father Ubaka Allanah of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oduke, emphasized the belief that God ordains rulers. He urged the people of Asaba to align with God’s will in the ongoing selection process.

“Whatever is happening, in whatever direction, I believe that it is the will of God. We are praying for God to make the selection Himself. When a righteous man is on the throne, the people will rejoice.

‘’We want Asaba to thrive, and that is the essence of this prayer,” he stated. Father Allanah also encouraged the community to place God first in all their endeavours, believing that divine alignment would propel Asaba forward.

Pastor Dr. Steve Eboka highlighted the importance of entrusting the succession process to God. “There is a vacancy in the stool of Asagba of Asaba, and we are in the process of choosing. We must hand it over to God, the Almighty, to guide us in selecting a man after His own heart,” he said.

One of the facilitators of the intercessory prayers, Pastor Anene Okafor, emphasized the significance of the prayer gathering. “We are not just doing this by accident; we prepared and planned for it. We are praying for the peace of Asaba, which is like our Jerusalem.

‘’This intercessory prayer is on behalf of everyone who steps foot on this great land. God has given us the power to decree a thing, and it shall be established,” Pastor Okafor affirmed.

In a notable moment during the event, Rev. Victor Okolo, accompanied by the committee’s Secretary, Rev. Dr. Nwachukwu Lawrence, visited the Diokpa of Ugbomanta, Ogbueshi Nwafe Ijeh, at his residence.

The Diokpa offered his blessings and prayed for the forgiveness of sins, asking God to cleanse the community so that their prayers might be answered, allowing Asaba to progress.

Rev. Nwachukwu Lawrence also imparted wisdom to the younger generation, urging them to honour their elders, likening the process to properly clearing a path before sowing to ensure a fruitful harvest.

Rev. O.J. Maduemezia concluded the prayers by beseeching God to provide a leader who would rule Asaba according to divine principles, ensuring justice and prosperity for all.

The Asaba Interdenominational Christian Association, which brings together Christians from various denominations, remains committed to fostering unity and spiritual guidance for the community, especially during this critical time of transition.
