THE Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has directed police operatives to take a proactive measure against armed criminals, following the launch of a comprehensive training and retraining program. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency, bolster crime prevention strategies, and instill courage and confidence in officers to effectively confront armed hoodlums and respond to distress calls.
A statement by the command’s Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga stated that the CP made the remark on Wednesday July 3, 2024 as he led trainees to the shooting range and assessed the schedule of the ongoing training.
Tochukwu said the command’s commitment to improving public safety and enforcing law and order in the state.
The Commissioner of Police gave a strong warning to those who have been misled into criminal activities to reconsider their actions and turn back from their harmful ways. He emphasizes that the Police and other Security Agencies will not permit a small group of malcontents to create chaos and make life difficult for the citizens of Anambra State.
The statement read in part; “to this end, the CP warns those who were misled to take to crime to retrace their steps as the Police and other Security Agencies
will not allow some disgruntled elements to make life unbearable for the residents of the state.”
