Army Recruitment: Oborevwori Urges Applicants To Participate In Screening

DELTA State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has again appealed to all applicants of Delta State origin, who applied for the 88th Regular Recruit Intake of the Nigerian Army, to participate in the ongoing recruitment screening exercise.

The Pointer reports that the screening commenced on Thursday, December 5 2024 at the the Cenotaph Complex in Asaba, the state capital, and would end on Thursday, December 19 2024.

The Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Oghenesivbe, in a statement yesterday, said Governor Oborevwori, through the State Committee on Awareness Creation for Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary Services, directed that the 25 local government chairmen in the state, ensure that applicants in their respective LGAs are promptly assisted to attend the screening exercise.

Dr Oghenesivbe further stated that recruitment of successful candidates into the Nigerian Army automatically provides paid and pensionable employment for Delta youths, male and female, adding that the Nigerian Army will also be responsible for the university education and other professional training of the candidates at all levels.

He said applicants who applied online but did not receive any letter of invitation from the Nigerian Army are strongly advised to also attend the ongoing screening exercise taking place at the Cenotaph Complex Asaba at 7 am daily from Thursday, December 5 to Thursday, December 19, 2024.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm of Delta Youths in the ongoing Nigerian Army 88th Regular Recruit Intake screening exercise taking place at the Cenotaph Complex Asaba. “The governor through the State Awareness Committee directed all Local Government Chairmen to ensure that all applicants in their respective LGA are promptly supported by providing logistics for them to participate in the ongoing screening exercise.

“Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda supports job and wealth creation through the enlistment of Delta youths into military and paramilitary services in Nigeria,” Oghenesivbe said.
