Atiku’s Political Future Bleak —Presidency

THE Presidency, yesterday, tackled the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar following the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders of the PDP including the immediate past governor and former running mate to Atiku, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa defected to the APC in a move that has generated widespread reactions.

In an X (former Twitter) post, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga knocked the former Vice President, stressing that his efforts at a merger to challenge the APC was dead on arrival.

According to the presidential spokesman, ‘’Atiku’s political future looks bleak. The coalition that he, El-Rufai, Babachir, and new member—Baba Ahmed are cobbling together has disintegrated.

‘’Potential allies, including former running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa and the defunct CPC members are giving this leprous group a wide berth. Atiku is a loser again’’ Onanuga said.

Meanwhile, the former vice president is yet to make any official statement following the political development in Delta State, particularly the defection of his former running mate.
