Caterers, Event Planners Launch Association

THE Association of Caterers, Food Ser­vices, Restaurants, and Event Planners has been officially inaugurated in Agbor, Delta State. The event was graced by no­table dignitaries, including the Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, represented by Council Secretary Mr. Kainji Aluge, and Comrade Monday Ak­pollo, who served as the Chairman of the occasion.

Delivering his address, Comrade Monday Akpollo expressed his gratitude for being chosen to lead the event, describing the association’s formation as a commendable step towards fostering unity and professionalism. He emphasised the impor­tance of skill acquisition to reduce the government’s employment burden and urged the association to maintain its integrity by delivering exceptional ser­vices to customers.

Representing the Ika South Council Chairman, Mr. Kainji Aluge lauded the group’s establishment, calling it a “milestone achievement.” He noted that the council is eager to collaborate with the association, recognising its potential to promote entrepreneurial growth and empower individuals within the community.

The Coordinator of the Association, Comrade Henry Ogochukwu Olowu, described the launch as a “new dawn for business operators” in the cater­ing and event planning sectors. He highlighted the organisation’s goals of uniting professionals, improving welfare, and fostering a conducive busi­ness environment.

“Our aim is to build a strong network of busi­ness operators in these sectors, enhancing profit­ability and creating op­portunities for engage­ment with government and other stakeholders.

“Through initiatives like empowerment pro­grammes, training ses­sions, and collective busi­ness ventures, we hope to achieve significant growth for our members,” he said.
