THE Chairman of the Umuseti Ogbe Community Development Committee (CDC), Comrade Henry Franklin, has called on all stakeholders and CDC Chairmen of Utagba Ogbe communities to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the fight against drug abuse.
Describing drug abuse as a “silent killer” that devastates lives, families, and entire communities, Franklin stressed the need for a united effort to combat this growing menace.
In his address, the chairman highlighted the far-reaching consequences of drug abuse, not just for individuals but for society as a whole, urging community leaders to take collective responsibility for raising awareness among young people about the dangers of drug abuse.
He also advocated for regular stakeholder meetings, where CDC Chairmen and other concerned individuals can come together to strategize on how to curb the sale of dangerous drugs in their communities.
