Chinye Pledges Support For Vigilante Group In Aniocha North

The Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Emma Chinye has interfaced with the Anioma Watch Security Network to bolster security in the area.

Chinye, who spoke in a meeting with the Aniocha North Chapter of the security outfit, disclosed that his administration would encourage them in line with his vision to rebuild the council area.

He assured the group that his administration would fulfil all campaign promises, stressing that Anioma Security Watch is one of the critical stakeholders that would be deployed to safeguard the area.

According to the Local Government Chairman, “We will do the needful as a government. We have also gone out of our way to pay security outfit, and whatever one invests in security is not a waste. We would be able to address your challenges”.

“I believe that something good will happen soon and the vehicle you requested will be provided. We also partnered with an Individual, Chief Gabriel Ogbechie, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rain-Oil who promised to beautify the Isseleuku/Issele-Azagba entrance, Onicha-Ugbo/Issele-Uku entrance and that city entrance.

He further assured the people that he could attract investors who would contribute to developing the metropolis while urging the security outfit to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

Earlier, the Aniocha North coordinator of the security outfit, Mr Joseph Chizea commended the Local Government Chairman for starting his administration on a positive note.

Chizea promised that his unit would work as the Chairman expected, adding that they are equipped with sufficient manpower while commending the Chairman for what he has done for them.

He pleaded with the Chairman to provide them with mobility to enable them to patrol at night, stressing that his men use their motorbikes.

Meanwhile, an aide to the Local Government Chairman, Ndubuisi Osemene appreciated the group for supporting the Chairman, saying ‘’If God does not protect a city, the watchman watches in vain’’

…. Appoints Ogbechie LEA Secretary

meanwhile, Hon. Emma Chinye has appointed Dr. (Mrs.) Nkem Ogbechie as the Executive Secretary, Aniocha North Local Education Authority.

The inauguration which took place in Issele-Uku was graced by chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North, principal staff of the council and councillors, among others.

Speaking, Chinye disclosed that the appointment of Dr. Ogbechie was to implement the cardinal objectives of his administration in education, while calling for better monitoring, supervision and enhancement of primary education.

Chinye pointed out that the appointee has passion for service , high standard of education and is result-oriented.

He added that her appointment was in recognition of her capacity to strengthen primary education in the council area, charging her to work in collaboration with all stakeholders to make a difference.

Chinye called on all staff of the LEA to support the new executive secretary in the task of repositioning the Authority for efficient service, just as he hoped that she would uphold the vision of the council in the sector.

Ogbechie commended the Chairman for finding her worthy to serve, pledging that she would not disappoint the people of Aniocha North but will ensure that she creates a positive impact in the sub-sector.

Also, Emma Chinye has vowed to rehabilitate the dilapidated LEA complex.

While inspecting the complex shortly after the inauguration of the newly-appointed Executive Secretary, Chinye expressed dismay at the state of the offices such as leaking roofs, just as ceilings and other fittings were in a deplorable condition.

Chinye promised that rehabilitation would commence soon, while encouraging the staff to continue to discharge their duties diligently, assuring them that his administration would strive to provide a more conducive work environment.

In a related development, Chinye has contracted the beautification of the council secretariat which includes repainting and rehabilitating the offices, clearing bushes around the complex and fumigation.
