Christian Leaders’ Week Of Prayers With Benin Monarch Ends

BY FAVOUR PERCY-IDUBOR, BENIN

BENIN City Christian Community have rounded-off their 2025 Universal Week of prayers, with a message of hope and fulfillment.

The inter denominational service, an annual ritual, was held in Oba of Benin Palace, Benin City, featuring praise worship and intercessory prayers.

‘The promise keeper’, was the 2025 theme for the week of prayer, meant to self-appraise one another and thank Almighty God.

Chairman of Benin City Christian Community, Apostle Godspower Ogbonmwan, who drew insight from the personality of King David in the Bible, charged Nigerians to embrace righteousness and be steadfast in their devotions despite the economic hardship.

The Cleric, who enjoined Nigerians to work hard in order to qualify for God’s blessings, blamed the prevalent social vices on erosion of family values and poor parenting.

“God has made a promise and he made us to understand that he is the God of promise. If we stand on the path, and act according to the dictates of God, this Country will be settled.

“Anyone who is not patient in life cannot succeed. Anger and violence are part of the reasons why many people miss the tract. May God Almighty help us not to miss the track in life”, he prayed.

Archbishop of Benin United Baptist Church, Osama Usuanlele, who delivered the goodwill message on behalf Palace as directed by Omo N’Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin appreciated the group after reading from the Bible book of Psalm 23.

Members of the Benin Royal, Dukes (Enigie), Chiefs, Oba palace functionaries and worshippers were present during the session that was moderated by Elder Agharese Idubor.
