Cleric Urges Muslim Faithful To Exhibit Love

BY KASE GREATNESS

AS Muslims around the world commemorates Eid-El-Fitr, a respected Muslim faithful, Azeez Jaminu, has called for peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.

Speaking  after the Eid-El-Fitr celebration service in Ibusa, Delta State, Jaminu emphasised the importance of fostering love and kindness as the foundation for a strong and thriving community.

In an interview with The Pointer, Jaminu highlighted the necessity of tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding among people of different backgrounds. He stressed that Islam is a religion of peace and that its teachings encourage unity, compassion, and selflessness.

“We must always remember that our faith calls us to be ambassadors of peace. True devotion is not only seen in our prayers and fasting but in the way we treat one another. A united community built on love, respect, and kindness will always prosper, no matter the challenges we face,” he said.

Jaminu urged Christians and Muslims alike to take individual responsibility for maintaining peace within their homes, workplaces, and society at large. He emphasised that conflicts and misunderstandings often arise from intolerance and a lack of communication, and he encouraged people to embrace dialogue, patience, and forgiveness.

He also warned against engaging in activities that could bring harm to others or disrupt societal peace. He reminded the worshippers that evil thrives where good people remain indifferent and called on them to actively uphold righteousness in their daily lives.

“Stay away from anything evil. Do not allow hatred, greed, or negativity to cloud your hearts. Instead, let us choose the path of righteousness, be just in our dealings, and extend a helping hand to those in need. This is how we build a better society,” he said.
