Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Sunday Tatabuzogwu has assured Deltans and investors of government efforts to ensure regular power supply across the state.
The commissioner said plans were in place to expand the existing IPP in Asaba from 8.5 MW to 18.5 MW of power supply, adding that this will boost electricity supply and attract investors to the state in addition to the existing peace and ease of doing business.
He gave the assurance when he visited the Asaba 8.5 Megawatts Independent Power Plant (IPP) on a familiarization tour, calling on investors to invest in the state.
Tatabuzogwu pointed out that with plans of the government, Delta State would be the hub of electricity generation in Nigeria, adding that this is in line with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
The commissioner, while lauding the management of the Asaba IPP, assured that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remained committed to ensuring a steady power supply to drive social and economic activities in the state.
The commissioner, who was in company of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs. Felicia Rone-Orugboh and other top management staff, was conducted round the IPP facility by its management.
Tatabuzogwu and top officers of the ministry also used the opportunity to visit the Maryam Babangida Leisure Park, the Asaba Airport and the old State Secretariat in Asaba.
