THE Oki Community has donated 27 hectares of land to the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor.
During the presentation of the land documents to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, a representative of the Agbor Community’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Prof. Alika Joseph, announced that the decision to donate the land was unanimously supported by the Dein of Agbor and the people of Oki Community, both at home and abroad.
Prof. Alika emphasized that the Oki Community remains committed to supporting the growth of the university.
Prof. Chiemeke, visibly delighted with the donation, expressed her deep gratitude to the Oki Community and assured them of a continued strong and cordial relationship. She also mentioned that the land documents would be forwarded to the Governing Council for necessary action.
The presentation ceremony was attended by prominent individuals including Dr Philip Okwada, Chief Dr Charles Nenyiaba, Chief Edison Elema (the Elema of Oki), Chief Benjamin Ogwu, Mr. Ben Igunbor, and Dr. O. Ugboh.
UNIDEL officials present at the event included the Registrar, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu, and the Librarian, Dr. (Mrs) Vera Okonoko.
