Community Leaders Get Kudos Over Peaceful Festival

THE media and publicity coordinator for the year 2024 New Yam and Nwanbele celebration of Ugbolu community in Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, Prince Amon Izuchukwu John has expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of youths, chiefs and other individuals throughout the duration of the community’s annual festival and Nwanbele carnival.

He commended the Diokpa Isi, Ogbueshi Chukwunweokwu Micheal Ajobi, Obi Iweanya Anthony Nwokolo, Obi (Dr.) Chike Okonkwo, members of the Diokpa-Isi in-council, and the youths drawn from the three quarters of Ogbe-Obi, Ogbe-Iyase and Amachai.

Prince Izuchukwu Amon, in a message of appreciation to all those who contributed their quota towards the peaceful and successful ceremonies, remarked that inspite of the hard times, the people turned out in grand style to identify with their culture and traditions.

“The cultural activities normally displayed by the various cadre of the people who performed the new yam individually and gathered to celebrate the Nwanbele, which usually attracts visitors from all walks of life is commendable”, he emphasized.

While thanking the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori, his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme and other political leaders for their different roles in ensuring peace in the State, Izuchuwku Amon also joined in the appeal to the state governor to grant Ugbolu community autonomy, adding that the community can boast of agricultural produce, including abundant fish, to feed the nation.
