Community Organizes Prayer For Oborevwori Over Appointment Of Okorodudu As DESOPADEC Director

The appointment of Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as Executive Director, Delta State Oil Producing Area and Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has been greeted with great jubilations and heartfelt commendations to the Governor by the people of Okpare-Olomu Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State

It could be recalled that the late Hon. Sir. Taleb Tebite, an indigene of Okpare-Olomu Community was the Executive Director (Project), DESOPADEC, until his sudden death.

He hailed from Okpare-Olomu, same community with Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu.

Addressing journalists during a prayer session organized by the community to pray for the governor, President-General of Okpare-Olomu Community, Comrade Maxwell Okiemute Otoka Tebite, said the community was overwhelmed with the appointment of their father, brother and uncle, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu.

He said the community was in deep mourning over the loss of Hon. Olorogun Taleb Tebite, his uncle when the governor came in an amazing way to wipe their tears.

“Okorodudu is our father, brother and son, and he is from the same community. Even though we loss a brother, God has used Oborevwori to wipe away our tears at the moment. This appointment is not just for Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, but for us the entire Okpare-Olomu Community and Ughelli South Local Government Area.

“We all cried when Hon. Taleb, my uncle died because we lost him as a person, and we also mourned because we have also lost a position given to our son, but surprisingly, the governor has again picked another son of the community and brought us succour to fill the vacuum created. So we have come to pray for him today for God to bless him and this is also to assure him of our unalloyed support for him till 2027.”

“With this singular act of Gov. Oborevwori, it shows how much love he had for late Olorogun Taleb Tebite. It is very rare for one position to move from one person in community and still remains in the community, but the governor did this for Okpare community and the entire Ughelli South local government area. We as a community have resolved to give all our votes to Oborevwori in his second term come 2027”.

On her part, Madam Agnes Uti described Governor Oborevwori as a man with kind heart and with wisdom of the old.

“We were in tears and mourning, and this man brought back our joy. We are grateful to him and God keeping us alive, 2027 we all we key behind him. He is a a thorough bred governor and son of Urhobo land.

“Oborevwori is one man the Okpare-Olomu community will be grateful to forever. We lost a great son, brother and Uncle, but Oborevwori never denied us the position.

Also speaking, one of Oborevwori’s aide, Hon. Kingsley Eboh, described the gesture of the governor as an indelible footprint that is worthy of emulations. He said they have pledged all their entirety to the governor as 2027 is a seal deal for him.

The community expressed their confidence in Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu’s ability and capacity to perform effectively in the office as a Executive Director in DESOPADEC haven attained a feat academically, politically and culturally. They expressed optimism of his preparedness to contribute positively to the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori’s administration.

“He has attracts several dividends of democracy to the community and has helped several sons and daughters of the community in different job opportunities, so we know he won’t disappoint the community and the governor.”

Similarly, the community thanked Oborevwori for appointing one of their foremost respected son, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, former Managing Director of the NDCC as the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, stating that the love of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori towards the community cannot be fathom.

They assured the governor of their continuous support and readiness to follow him come 2027.

The prayer session and thanks you rally organized by the community attracted a number of Okpare-Olomu indigene, residents including youths, women and elders. They trooped out with placards bearing different inscription such as ‘Gov. Oborevwori, you have wiped away our tears’, You are a true governor for Deltans, We will vote you again etc.
