THE Member Representing Ika North East Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs Marylyn Okowa-Daramola has been commended for handing over one of her Constituency project to the beneficiaries for adequate uses.
The projects which includes the renovations of some dilapidated class room blocks at Ogbe Primary School in Umunede and Owanta Secondary School in Owanta both schools on Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State has been handed over to the school heads for proper academic uses.
Some who spoke to our correspondent after the handing Over ceremony of the project includes the Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Council, Hon Monday Odigwe, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Delta State, Mr. Ernest Ossai and, a community leader, Elder Innocent Apokwueze in their separate remarks commended Hon. Mrs. Okowa-Daramola for her commitment to the proper execution of the projects in her Constituency .
Hon. Monday Odigwe in his commendation, said that, the project completion and its handed over for use by the lawmaker was a well commended administrative efforts and achievement of her commitment and promise of putting her people’s interest first.
According to him, “She loves her people and her people as well love her. And you can read her mind from far how much she is willing to give back to her people in the Constituency. The other day we are in the market to hand over the keys of shop she constructed for the traders for use freely without paying anything.’’
“ l believe that she is determined to fulfill her promises and we thank her so much for that. She has demonstrated capacity and good faith and total love for her people, as her representations is all about the love for her people in her Constituency, he added.
In his remarked the Director of Planning Research and Statistics, Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Ernest Ossai while thanking Hon. Daramola for her commitment to quality project execution and fast service delivery , urges other lawmakers and project contractors in the state to emulate her good will do that the Executive Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori could be proud of both them and also the Supervising Ministry as well.
Speaking with news men immediately after the handing over of the projects, Hon. Okowa-Daramola said that, her desired for better representations is guided by her electioneering campaign mantra of “ Putting her people ‘s Interest First “’.
She emphasized that the schools renovations project in Umunede and Owanta Community was a constituency project given to her by the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to her she said, “ That Mantra of putting my People first actually made me to run for the election and I have not relented. As I said earlier I will continue to put my people interest first.
“ My constituency Project allows me to do two schools in a year. So this year the reason for my choice in schools in Owanta and Umunede was that I personally went round all the schools in Ika North East. And l realized that these schools were in worst conditions than the rest.
“You will agree with me that during the past administration, a lot of renovations were done in our schools, she added.
