PARTICIPANTS of the just concluded 2024 edition of the Delta State senior management training course have lauded the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori for revitalizing their passion for public service, enhancing their skills, and promoting a culture of excellence and efficiency in the civil service.
In a Communique presented by the Governor-General of Course 20, Mr. Ivovi Aruoriwo and read by Mr. Austin Sinebe on behalf of the 250 participants at the closing ceremony of the 2024 edition of the training programme on Friday, at Asaba, the state capital, said that the commendation was a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to investing in the development of civil servants.
According to the Communique, the training aligned with the governor’s focus on meaningful development, economic growth, and human capital development. “The senior management training course, held over seven weekends, demonstrates Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to building a skilled and effective civil service. By equipping participants with strategic thinking, leadership, and management skills, the program aims to paved the way for new generation of innovative, result-driven leaders poised to leave a lasting impact on Delta State’s governance.” the Communique stated.
Recognizing governor Oborevwori’s efforts, the course participants acknowledged the positive impact of his administration’s initiatives on their professional growth and the state’s overall development.
While expressing their gratitude for the governor’s investment in their career development, citing significant improvements in their strategic thinking, leadership, and management abilities, they advocated for expanding the programme’s scope by introducing study tour components to local government councils and MDA’s to deepen their knowledge.
They also sxpressed their gratitude to the Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, for his efforts in sustaining the training programme.
Meanwhile, the participants gathered, yesterday, at the Grace and Progress Family Chapel, for a special thanksgiving service.
Led by the Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, and accompanied by his wife, Vivian, the participants came together to acknowledge God’s divine guidance, preservation, and grace throughout the programme.
Highlights of the thanksgiving service included inspirational and heartfelt sermon by the presiding pastor of the church, Bishop Chuka Agwuegbo, songs ministration and Special prayers for the participants.
The Seven Weekends Senior Management Training Programme was introduced by the administration of Chief James OnanefeIbori in 2004, and has been instrumental in ensuring that the State’s Civil Service remains at the forefront of management innovation. It has provided Senior Officers with cutting-edge management techniques and to nurture their acumen so that they could align with globally accepted practices.
