THE Culture and Tourism Unit of the Community Development Department in Uvwie Local Goernment Area, Delta State is promoting Creek Boy, popularly known as Ten- Ten, a comedy and music event set to take place in Uvwie Local Government on November 24, 2024.
Justice Tena Okpaboro,, whose stage name is Ten-Ten, Creekboy, spoke with our correspondent, explaining that the event was inspired by a desire to help the people of Uvwie relax and have fun, even in these tough times.
“This event will inspire peace and unity in Uvwie, as it brings together people from various cultures living in the area. These cultures will be showcased during the event, fostering inclusivity,” he said.
Creekboy also emphasised that there are strict security arrangements in place for both at the event centre (KFT) and Bond Hotel, where guests will be lodged. He highlighted that events in Uvwie are characterised by stringent security measures, with both the Army and the police involved.
The Special Assistant to Chairman on Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Okologo Brorie, told our correspondent that the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Chief Anthony Ofoni, was committed to supporting and promoting creatives in Uvwie, showcasing it as a safe haven for cultural displays, talent, and tourism through hospitality.
“Creekboy, aka Ten-Ten, is hosting his event at KFT Place, NNPC Link Road, ‘Live in Uvwie.’ Come with your friends and family to have a good time and experience top-notch peace and hospitality in Uvwie Local Government. Uvwie is now known as the ‘I Go Live Local Government,’” she said.
Mrs. Okologo further encouraged youths and creatives wishing to host events during the festive season to consider Uvwie local government area, noting that there are cosy event centres and hotels available for guests.
She also mentioned that reaching out to the Culture and Tourism Unit of the Community Development Department in the Uvwie Secretariat would provide support for social events and lend more credibility to events held in Uvwie.
