In a bid to ease the effects of hunger and economic hardship in the country, a non-governmental organization (NGO), D’ Olympus Foundation, has presented cash gifts to over 100 women in Jesse community.
The beneficiaries, mostly aged women, received the support during the first phase of the Financial Support Programme yesterday in Atiwor-Jesse, Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State.
Speaking at the presentation, the Managing of Olympus Group, Mr. Great Ifeanyi, who represented the founder, Barr. Frank Nani, said the event was organized to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the aged women. “Valentine’s Day is a time to show love not only to our loved ones but to everyone in society, especially the vulnerable,” he said.
He further emphasized that this initiative aligns with the core values of D’ Olympus Foundation, which include providing medical services, scholarships for underprivileged students, financial support, and entrepreneurship training for women and youth, among others.
Mr. Ifeanyi stressed that the gesture was purely humanitarian, devoid of religious or political inclinations, and aimed at showing love to the vulnerable, particularly aged mothers in society.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation by singing praises to God in Urhobo dialect, delighting everyone present. They also prayed for divine blessings, grace, wisdom, and good health for the founder and his family, as well as for the continued growth of the Foundation to enable it to impact more lives.
In her reaction, Mrs. Patience Agbosika, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the NGO for the timely intervention and prayed for its continued success in supporting the vulnerable.
Similarly, Mrs. Omatie Okekporo and Mrs. Baby Friday expressed their gratitude and prayed for the founder and his team, urging more NGOs to support vulnerable persons in society
