Delta Assures Enhanced Security In Communities

THE Delta State Government has assured the people of Otulu in Aniocha South Local Government Area of an end to the security challenges in the town, as the government is addressing any security concerns and ensuring that peace and security reigned in communities across the state.

The State’s Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme gave the assurance when he received a delegation from Otulu on a courtesy visit to him at Government House, Asaba.

Sir Onyeme said the state government is aware of the security challenges in Otulu community, adding that investigation is currently ongoing by security agencies.

He assured that after the investigation, the government would take necessary action to ensure that the people live in peace and carry out their businesses without any form of fear.

Sir Onyeme urged them to maintain peace as the government was concerned about the happenings in the town.

The deputy governor added that the state government placed a high premium on peace and security hence it would not allow any part of the state to be in crisis as that would affect the entire state.

He advised them to follow due process in their pursuit and avoid anything that could cause a crisis in the community.

The Leader of the delegation, Prince Chukwudi Mgbanwa, said Otulu, an agrarian community is an autonomous community and had been in existence since 1820.

He appealed to the state government to look into the issues that had caused insecurity in Otulu community which had led to the loss of lives and property adding that the community before now was known for its peaceful nature.

Prince Mgbanwa pledged the support and cooperation of the people of Otulu to the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.
