OLOMORO Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has initiated plans to establish a gas turbine.
The decision was reached during an emergency general conference held by the Olomoro Community Development Union (OCDU), under the leadership of the President General, Mr. Lucky Eweh Ejoor.
It was agreed that the gas turbine will be constructed with money obtained from the P.I.A and other proceeds from oil companies’ activities in the area. Those who attended the conference include, the Isoko South Local Government Area Chairman, Hon Warri Ovoke, who was ably represented by the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Abedi Goodluck, included other governmental dignitaries and illustrious sons and daughters of the community within and in diaspora.
The conference also witnessed reconstitution of the executive cabinet of the community in order to build and harmonize a stronger and more effective leadership that will further enhance the developmental growth of the community.
As a result, the Olomoro Labour and Vigilante Group (OLVG) was saddled with the responsibility of negotiating with oil companies to bring job slots to indigenes of the area as part of human capital development and shared in line with the constitution of the Olomoro Development Union.
Speaking, the local government chairman represented by the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Abedi Goodluck, however commended those who attended the conference despite its short notice adding that their actions show that they desire the development of Olomoro Kingdom.
He expressed his satisfaction with the kind of developmental decisions taken so far during the conference and assured them of government assistance.
