- Bans Him From Meetings
The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, yesterday, suspended the traditional ruler of Olomoro community, Joseph Isaiah Isike Edekere 1, over “alleged gross misconduct, lack of respect for constituted authority and fanning ember of crisis in his own domain.”
The Chairman, in a letter titled “Withdrawal Of Representation As The Odio-logbo Of Olomoro Kingdom” personal signed by him, and made available to The Pointer, strictly warned Joseph Isike from parading himself as the Odio-logbo of the kingdom forthwith.
The letter marked “Our Ref: C.16/28/Vol.111/59” read in parts:
“I wish to refer to the above subject and to inform you as your withdrawal representing His Royal Majesty Isaiah Isike Edekere 1, the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom today 10th December, 2024.
“This withdrawal is necessitated by your actions of lack of respect for government, instituting confusion/crisis in Olomoro community. High-handedness in leadership without due recourse to the effects on the people of Olomoro Kingdom amidst others.
“You are by this withdrawal requested not to parade yourself as the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom forthwith anywhere and as well as stoppage from attending the traditional rulers council meetings in the local government area and the state. This notice is strictly correct your compliance as any further reference to you as HRM the Odio-logbo of Olomoro Kingdom will be met with dire consequences.”
Olomoro community has been enmeshed in series of pockets of crisis which has been attributed to the monarch and other leaders of the community with intentions to unseat the newly elected President-General of the community, Lucky Ewhe Ejoor, who has continued to enjoy overwhelmed mass support from leaders, youths, women and others in the community.
