THE Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme has said that Delta North is 100 per cent Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Speaking at a reception in honour of elected members of the Executive Committee of the PDP from Delta North Senatorial District, yesterday, in Asaba, the deputy governor congratulated the elected officials and charged them to double their efforts to ensure that the district remains intact for the party.
He noted that the elected officials clinched the positions based on their track records of delivering positive results for the party. “Today, we are here to celebrate people who have been rewarded for contributing immensely to development of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
“Based on their hard work and commitment to the growth of our party, they have been given more assignment as elected officials our party and they are to serve us for the next four years. “I congratulate the Deputy Chairman of our party, Elder Moses Iduh and all the elected officers of our party from Delta North, a zone which is always giving the PDP 100 per cent and will continue to remain 100 per cent PDP.
“You have been tested and we believe in you and your capacity; most of you are old in the business of politics and that is why we say, ‘the reward for hard work is more work.’
“We expect you to improve on what you have been doing for the PDP to remain the number one choice of Delta North, once again, congratulations to all those who are here to celebrate our people, we say, thank you,” the deputy governor stated.
State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Solomon Arenyeka said that it was absolute loyalty that members of the party to choose the officers to serve in the state Executive Committee of the party.
Arenyeka urged them to continue in the spirit of loyalty and unity, asserting, “for you to be here today as elected officers of the party, you must have been seen to be loyal to the party from head to toe; you must also have been seen not to have decamped from the party in any circumstances.
“To our new officers from Delta North, I know you have the strength to do the job that you have been elected to do and this job is no other thing than loyalty to the party.
“I know that by the grace of God, with all of us working together with our governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, no one will be disappointed.”
Those who were honoured include Elder Moses Idu (Deputy State Chairman), Engr. Dan Ossai, Vice Chairman (Delta North), Mrs Mary Agbogwe (Woman Leader), Barr. Francis Okolie (Youth Leader), Chief Chibuzor Uwaje (State Treasurer), Barr. Heslington Okolo (Legal Adviser), Mr Godwin Ezedom (State Assistant Secretary), Mr Lucky Onyia (Assistant Youth Leader), Mr John Emenim (State Auditor), Mr Innocent Uchibuofu (Assistant Organising Secretary), Mr Krees Njookwuemeni (Assistant Treasurer), Mrs Mercy Nkem Odili (Ex-Officio), Lady Nneka Orah (Ex-Officio).
