The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta State Chapter has inaugurated the Congress Planning Committee (CPC) and the Electoral Committee (ELECO) in preparation for its upcoming State Elective Congress.
In a press release signed by the Acting State Secretary, Comrade (Mrs) Jane-Rose Silver, the council announced that the inauguration ceremony took place at the Delta State Youth Office, where members of both committees were officially sworn-in to commence their duties.
Amb Kenneth Okorie was appointed as the Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee (CPC), with Comrade Eyitemi Toritsereju serving as Secretary.
Other members of the CPC include Comrade Johnson Oghenevieyenze, Amb Kori-Siakpere Efeturi, and Comrade Avwoke Clinton.
For the Electoral Committee (ELECO), Dr. McDonald Amaechi will serve as Chairman, while Comrade Patrick Adebowale will take on the role of Secretary.
Other members of the ELECO are Dr (Mrs) Chidi Ugeh, Comrade Onovwigho Anthonia, Divine Ofobrukueta, Comrade Fejiro Ejuone, and a representative from the Ministry of Youth Development.
The newly inaugurated committees have been tasked with the responsibility of organizing and supervising the State Elective Congress, a significant event that will determine the future leadership and strategic direction of the NYCN in Delta State. The Congress Planning Committee is responsible for coordinating logistics and other organizational aspects of the Congress.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Committee will oversee the nomination and election processes, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the exercise.
The forthcoming State Elective Congress is expected to draw youth representatives from across Delta State, fostering greater participation and strengthening youth leadership and advocacy in the region.
