Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogor have commended voters for their commitment toward the victory of the party at the just concluded local government elections in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The leaders, while also commending the commitment of voters toward ensuring that the party won the two councillorship and chairmanship positions, held that the local government elections are a clear indication that they would have no rival in 2027.
This is just as a retired Shell staff, Engr Akporuku Gabriel joined the PDP family in appreciation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda in transforming the state.
Addressing party faithful at the event, the Senior Special Assistant (Political) to the Governor, Kpuwhara Anthony said, ‘We have gathered to celebrate the victory of our party at the just concluded Local government elections. “We want to appreciate your support, loyalty and commitment toward the success of all our candidates; from the chairman to councillors in Ughelli North, Ogor in particular. The votes we had in the Oviri-Ogor community at the elections were overwhelming and at Edjekota, it was also amazing.
‘’It was your power, zeal and interest that made us triumph. I am appealing for more commitment from us to reap the dividends of democracy in our communities.”
Also speaking, Mr Christian Obayendo disclosed that the victory recorded at the polls was a clear indication that the people are tired of the All Progressive Congress (APC), which he said, has brought hunger and anger to the nation.
On why he joined the PDP, Engr Gabriel Akporuku disclosed that he did so because of the development, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is bringing to Delta state.
He said, ‘’I have never belonged to any party before now until the Obidient Movement came and I become a part of them then.
But from a clearer look at things, PDP is the only reliable party in Delta that I can work with.
“I was motivated to join the party by the activities of Olorogun Kpuwhara and I am happy to have taken that decision because PDP is the only party that is ready to work with the people’’ he said.
