THE Delta State Youth Leader, Barrister Francis Okolie has called on Deltans to remain resolute and commited in their support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the new year.
Barrister Okolie made the call at the end of year – get -together party at Ogwashi-Uku organized for PDP youths, party faithful, friends and well wishers as well as other party members in Aniocha South local government area.
The State Youth leader said the party was organized to appreciate them for their support towards the growth and political advancement of the party.
Barrister Okolie said the doors of the party were open to admit new members and urged those yet to join the party to leverage on the increasing profile of the PDP to register and become members saying that both the old and new members were of equal status as enshrined in the party’s constitution.
He disclosed that the party would soon embark on an aggressive membership drive aimed at boosting the numerical strength of the party across the state urging the people to pitch tent with the PDP, describing it as the party with the answer to the multi-faceted challenges bedeviling the country.
He charged the party members and supporters to remain loyal and adhere to party rules and regulations adding that the party abhorred indiscipline and other tendencies inimical to the ideals and growth of the party.
While commending the party’s leadership for its inspirational leadership style, Barrister Okolie congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for doing the state proud through the execution of multi – billion naira infrastructural projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.
Barrister Okolie called for greater support for the PDP and the State government in the new year assuring that the state would witness more development projects in the years ahead.
Also speaking, the Aniocha South PDP Chairman, Sir Peter Okwe commended Barrister Okolie for the initiative, saying that the get-together afforded members to bond and unwind in a convivial atmosphere .
For his part, the Secretary to Aniocha South Local government, Hon. Tony Ebube, popularly called Kelebe, urged the party members and supporters to remain united and continue to work as a team in the collective effort to sustain the towering political fortunes of the party in the state.
Others who spoke including the Aniocha South PDP youth leader , Prince Nduka Onukwu AKA ‘’Durable’’ affirmed their irrevocable support and commitment to the PDP.
The party was attended by PDP members, party supporters and well wishers from within Aniocha South local government area.
