The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Onoriode Agufure disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the state secretariat in Asaba after the inter-ministry budget defence for 2025.

The commissioner revealed plans that will improve the transportation sector in 2025 by introducing technology that will drive the ministry policies and progress of the transportation sector in general.

According to the commissioner; “we are expecting a lot of innovations, initiatives by 2025 that will improve the transportation sector, we are trying to use more technologies that will drive policies and progress of the transportation sector in Delta State”.

One of the things we want to introduce is the AMPR, that we will use technology and cameras at specific and strategic locations to capture those that would beat traffic, red light or even those that have not paid or registered their vehicles, he said.

The commissioner, while speaking on his performance in the period in view, said the Ministry of Transportation has performed excellently with average of 60-70 percent, and called on Deltans to exercise little patience with the government that is pathetic with their plight, saying the Oborevwori’s led administration is working on something to mitigate the high cost of transportation across the state.
