Divine Intervention Needed To Curb Corruption, Insecurity, Others ––Catholic Priest

THE Assistant Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ugborikoko, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Rev. Fr. Stephen Douye, has urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention as the nation grapples with a myriad of challenges, including corruption, insecurity, and bad governance.

The priest made the call during Sunday church service titled; “Jesus in the Storm.”

Rev. Father Douye encouraged the congregation to seek “Christ’s guidance and calm in the face of these storms”, emphasizing the need for divine intervention to navigate the difficult period.

“Nigeria is indeed facing a political storm, characterized by corruption, insecurity, and political turmoil,” the priest declared. “We need Christ to calm this storm and guide us through.

We must come together in prayer and faith, trusting in God’s providence to see us through this challenging period.”

Drawing inspiration from the Gospel reading, where Jesus calmed the stormy sea with the words, “Peace, be still,” he assured the congregation that the same Jesus who calmed the stormy sea can calm the turbulent situation in Nigeria.

“Just as Jesus calmed the sea storm, he can calm the storm in our nation,” the priest said. “Let us have faith in Him and trust that He will guide us through these turbulent times.”

Rev. Father Douye emphasized that as the country struggles to combat corruption, insecurity, and political tensions, there is a profound need for divine intervention.
