Divisional Police Officer Calls For Cooperation From Residents Of Onichaugbo Community

THE Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Jonathan Omoseogho, has called for continuous cooperation between communities and the police as partners in crime detection and prevention.

CSP Omoseogho made the remarks when he paid a familiarization visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Onicha-Ugbo, HRM Obi Victor Chukwumalieze.

The Divisional Police Officer said he was at the palace to meet with the traditional ruler and his people to acquaint himself with them and their culture, to enable him achieve success in his duties of policing the locality.

The DPO reiterated that security of life and property should not be left in the hands of the Police alone, therefore everyone must cooperate with the Police, particularly to release useful information that would guide them to work with efficiency for expected results.

In the same vein he admonished them not to take laws into their own hands, but to follow due process according to the law, just as he applauded the Vigilante and the Anti-cult groups in the community for their forthrightness.

He, however, urged them to always work closely with the police for all-inclusive policing to checkmate crimes and criminalities across the local government Area.

Responding, the Okwelegwe of the town, Chief EbiOdeigah, thanked the DPO for his visit and assured him that the community was always ready to work harmoniously with him for a crime-free locality.

Chief Odeigah solicited for the support of the police in checking the insubordination of the youths in the area, just as he extended an invitation to the DPO from Obi Chukwumalieze to attend the forthcoming Ine Festival of the community.
