DPPC Celebrates Promotion Of Mgt Staff To Level 17

THE Acting General of Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), Mr. Godfrey Ubaka has charged newly promoted staff members to continue working towards making the state-owned media outfit the number one choice of the reading public.

He made this statement on Monday during an event held at the company’s boardroom, commemorating the promotion of some management staff members to Level 17 in the state civil service.

Four were promoted to level 17, including the Acting General Manager, Mr. Godfrey Ubaka, Deputy General Manager (DGM/HOD) Commercial, Mr. Festus uzor and DGM/HOD (Editorial), Mrs. Chibuzor Isichei, while immediate past Acting General Manager, Mr. Sam Ijeh, who retired last March was among the beneficiaries having been due for the promotion before exiting the service.

Speaking at the event, Ubaka, extended congratulations to the newly promoted management staff members. “On behalf of the Corporation, I offer my congratulations to the recipients of the level 17 promotion. As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected”, he said.

“To our newly promoted staff, I urge you to continue to work together to elevate The Pointer Newspaper to new heights, making it a leading source of local, national and international news, both in print and digital platforms”, he said.

Ijeh appreciated the State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori for giving approval to the promotion, as well as stakeholders who were helpful in making it possible.

“We are happy to see this significant milestone which we had anticipated for years.  As we mark this occasion, we also celebrate the launching of The Pointer Online, a major digital milestone that proves this media outfit is aligning with modern industry standards.

“Even as we appreciate these achievements, we look forward to the next step, which is consolidating to the position of Managing Director”,  he said. Ijeh further called for continued support and cooperation to ensure sustained progress in The Pointer.

In their respective speeches, the two others now on level 17,  Uzor and Isichei appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, and the Board Chairman, Olorogun (Dr.) Ebenezer Okorodudu for his role in making the promotion possible, while Isichei called for unity and team spirit among staff members.
