Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the appointment of Mr Austin Igbine as Chairman of the Delta State Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), publishers of The Pointer Newspapers.
Mr Igbine takes over from Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, who was recently appointed as the Executive Director (Projects) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
This leadership change is expected to inject fresh energy into DPPC at a time when the media industry is grappling with evolving challenges.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Emu, confirmed that the inauguration of the new chairman of DPPC will be announced in due course.
With its critical role in disseminating news and fostering informed public discourse, The Pointer Newspaper is well-placed to benefit from Mr Igbine’s innovative approach and strategic vision.
In a related development, the Governor has taken decisive steps to transform the state’s infrastructure landscape by appointing Hon. Victor Ebonka as Special Project Director for the Asaba Waterfront Project, with immediate effect.
This ambitious project is envisaged as a catalyst for economic growth and urban renewal, promising to transform the waterfront into a vibrant hub for leisure, commerce and community activities.
The appointment of Mr Ebonka underscores the administration’s commitment to realising a modern, accessible public space that will serve as a focal point for development and regeneration.
