DPPC Staff Pay Last Rest To Late Ozonuwe

The remains of a retired staff of The Pointer and former Production Editor, Chief Fidelis Ozonuwe have been interred at his country home in Ikilibi, Utagba-Uno, Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, Delta State.

The funeral ceremony was graced by the presence of the creme de la creme of society, including the retired and serving staff of The Pointer led by the Acting General Manager of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), publishers of The Pointer titles, Mr Godfrey Ubaka and chiefs from Ndokwa ethnic nationality.

Among other staff who graced the funeral ceremony were the DGM/Chairman, Editorial Board, Mr. Tony Eke; Director/HoD, Commercial Department, Mr. Festus Uzor; former Group News Editor, Barr. Thomas Anigara, and DGM, Account Department, Mr. Emmanuel Okekpolo;

Others include DGM Circulation, Mr. Tony Ughegbe; DGM, Advert, Mr. Pius Ogwude; Head of Unit, Library, Gloria Onojaife; Chairman, NUPPPPROW, Joy Fasindor; AGM, Mr. Lucky Oyibo; HoD, Production Department; Mr. Clifford Obi and some retirees. They eulogised the sterling qualities of the departed while he was in active service in the corporation.

The highlight of the funeral ceremony was the presentation of a souvenir to one of the sons of the late Chief Ozonuwe, Mr Chukwuka Ozonuwe by the Acting General Manager of The Pointer Newspaper, Mr Ubaka.

The late Chief Ozonuwe was a product of The Observer Newspapers and pioneer staff of The Pointer Newspapers established in 1994 and worked till his retirement in 2020.
