DSCTDA Commences Phase Two Of Garden Maintenance, Desiltation In Asaba

THE Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has launched the second phase of its garden maintenance initiative across Asaba, Delta State Capital.

The Director-General of the Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, made this announcement, yesterday, during the exercise’s commencement at the Infant Jesus and Temple Clinic gardens. Ukah emphasized the agency’s commitment to sustaining the beauty of the capital territory, assuring residents that the maintenance efforts will be continuous.

“In line with the MORE Agenda of the current administration, we are more determined than ever to ensure that the capital territory reflects the aesthetics befitting of its status,” he said.

The second phase of the garden maintenance will extend to other key locations, including Abraka, FMC, Grand Hotel, Akpu Junction, and DLA Junction, ensuring that these areas receive the attention necessary to enhance their appearance.

In addition to the garden maintenance, the DSCTDA has resumed desiltation activities on various roads across the capital territory, following the recent return of rains.

The desiltation project is currently underway on Monday Onyeme Road, which drains into the sewer on Anwai Road.

Ukah noted that this effort is crucial to preventing flooding by ensuring that water flows freely during rainfall.

“Our goal is to maintain clear drainage systems so that Asaba remains flood-free during the rainy season,” he added.
