The Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA), in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and partners will be implementing the Big- Catch-up immunization activity.
The routine immunization exercise is aimed at reaching zero dose children who are 59 months of age and below, as well as administering missed antigens. This statement was contained in a communique signed by the Director of Public Communication and, Functioning Permanent Secretary Theresa Aliko.
To this end, all Chairmen of the affected local government areas are by this announcement requested to kindly support the implementation and full compliance of this activity to ensure active participation and success.
However, this exercise, will focus on the following Local Government Areas: Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Warri South, Isoko South, Burutu, Uvwie, Ndokwa West and Sapele, and to run from Wednesday, 8 to Wednesday 13th January, 2025. Additionally, the objectives of the Big Catch-Up program is to improve on the number of children vaccinated against vaccine-preventable diseases with a focus on reaching the under- served population.
