DTHA Confirms, Oborevwori, Okorodudu, Idion, 16 Others

THE Delta State House of Assem­bly, (DTHA) yesterday screened and confirmed the appointment of Mr. Joshua Onoriode Oborevwori, Dr Ebenezer, Okorodudu, Chief Peter Idion and Sixteen others as Chairmen and Members of Several Boards and Commissions in the State.

The affected Commissions, include; Delta State Sports Commission, Delta State Public Procurement Commis­sion, Delta State House of Assembly Commission and Delta State Oil Area Producing Development Commission (DESOPADEC)

Similarly, the affected Boards in­clude; Traffic Management Authority Board, Waste Management Board and Delta State Urban Water Board.

While Mr. Joshua Inoriode Obor­evwori was screened and confirmed for appointment as Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Dr. Eb­enezer Okorodudu and Chief Peter Idion were screened and confirmed for appointment as Executive Direc­tor, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESO­PADEC) and, Director General, Delta State Traffic Management Authority, respectively.

For the Delta State Public Pro­curement Commission, the House screened and confirmed the ap­pointment of David Igodo-AIG Rtd as Chairman, while Mr. Edwin Abraka was also screened and confirmed for appointment as Director General (DG) of the commission. While the duo of Comrade Venture Daniels and Fynco­untry Goodluck Tamaraebi were also screened and confirmed as members.

Similarly, Mr. Sunday Ebireri was screened and confirmed as Chairman of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission, just as Chief Moses Chukwudi Onowu was also screened and confirmed for appoint­ment as Member of the commission.

Also at yesterday’s plenary pre­sided over by the Speaker of the State Assembly, the Lawmakers screened and confirmed the appointments of Mr. Matthew Mofe Edema and Ethe Enifome Juliet as chairman and member of the Delta State Waste Management Board.

In same vein, Chief Joe Arausi was also screened and confirmed for ap­pointment as Chairman, Delta State Urban Water Board, just as Okiemute Essien Benjamin was also screened and confirmed for appointment as Director of the traffic management authority.

In separate letters conveying the Governor’s intent as addressed to the State House of Assembly and read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor at Tuesday’s Plenary, the Governor named

The Pointer reports that in the State Sports Commission where Mr. Joshua Inoriode Oborevwori was screened and confirmed for appointment as Chairman, Mr. Okeremute Samuel Sodje, Henrienta Ihiekonye and Oghale Ofremu were also screened and confirmed for appointments as members of the commission.

It would be recalled that the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, earlier, nominated the appointees for screening and confirmation by the State lawmakers.

Congratulating the nominees on their successful screening and con­firmation, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomoti­mi Guwor enjoined them to justify the confidence reposed on them and work towards actualizing the MORE agenda vision of the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
