THE member representing Sapele Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Okakuro Perkins Umukoro has distributed 50,000 notebooks to seven primary schools in his constituency area to encourage the children and aid parents.
The schools include: Urhiapele Primary School; Bishop Johnson Primary School; Omashola Primary School ; Abeke Primary School; Ethiope Primary School, Amukpe; Omarin Primary School and Abbot Primary School.
while presenting the notebooks to the pupils at the various schools, Hon. Perkins Umukoro said he decided to give out notebooks to pupils in a bid to assist their parents considering the high cost of living in the country.
According to him, “during my days in primary school, as a pupil, I also received such kind gesture from people in my area who came to distribute free notebooks to us and encouraged us to learn, I am doing the same today, so that in future, you all can do the same. My prayer is that you all would be great in life and do better than myself, I am giving out half a dozen to each pupil.”
Heads of the various primary schools thanked Hon Umukoro for choosing their schools for the Sheriff/Perkins Foundation Educational Empowerment program.
