DTHA Passes Private Veterinary Clinic Amendment Bill

THE Delta State Registration of Private Veterinary Clinics Amendment Bill, 2024 was yesterday, read the third time on the floor of the State House of Assembly as it was subsequently passed.

At the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the House, following a motion by the Majority Leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, suspended all relevant rules of the House to enable it take the third reading and pass. Motion for the third reading of the bill was also moved by the Majority Leader and member representing Aniocha North State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi as it was unanimously adopted by the House. Congratulating the Lawmakers for the successful passage of the bill, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor said the amendment of the regulation of Private Veterinary Clinics Law 2006 became necessary due to challenges encountered during its implementation process.

Rt. Hon. Guwor said the bill will no doubt enable the State government through the Veterinary Establishments Registration and Regulation Commission, VERRC, regulate and control the manufacturing, preparation, storage, preservation of articles to which the bill applies.
