History was made in the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), publishers of The Pointer titles, following the appointment of Mrs Rosemary Nwaebuni as its first female General Manager.
Mrs Nwaebuni’s appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Hon Charles Aniagwu.
According to the announcement, ‘’It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Delta State Government has approved the appointment of Mrs Rosemary Eziafa Nwaebuni, Deputy General Manager (Editorial) as the substantive General Manager of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation with effect from February 17 2025’’
Until her appointment, Mrs Nwaebuni was the editor of The Pointer (weekend) and chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), The Pointer Chapel. A graduate of Mass Communication from the Delta State University (DELSU) Abraka, Mrs Nwaebuni started her journalism career as a sports writer and rose through the ranks, proving her mettle.
With this appointment, Mrs Nwaebuni, who takes over from Mr Godfrey Ubaka, becomes the first General Manager of the corporation. Her appointment has sparked profuse excitement among staff members of the corporation and industry observers.
