DTSG Committed To Eradicating Measles, Says Onyeme

DELTA State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has said that the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori led-administration is committed to the eradication of measles.

Sir Onyeme gave the assurance in Asaba when he received on a courtesy visit, the Delta State Immunization Team, comprising of Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, National Health Care Development Agency and Partners agencies (WHO, UNICEF, etc)

According to Sir Onyeme, the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will always support what will make Deltans healthy and safe.

He commended the immunization team for the work they were doing to make the state safe from dangerous diseases.

According to him; “This administration of Governor Oborevwori believes that whatever that is needed to be done for the health and safety of our people will be done and we are happy with the work that this team is doing for our state and to make our country free from diseases.

“Our goal is to eradicate these diseases that are plaguing our people which is what WHO, UNICEF and our team of doctors are doing,” he added.

The Executive Director, Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Paul Yinkore who represented the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, said they were on an advocacy visit to inform the deputy governor of the forthcoming measles vaccination campaign in the state.

Dr. Yinkore, said the measles vaccination campaign is for children between 9-59 months, and would be flagged off on September 19.
