DTSG Re-affirms Commitment To Quality Education

THE Delta State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to raising educational standards by enhancing leadership and administrative efficiency in secondary schools across the state.

The assurance was given by the Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, during the 2025 capacity building workshop for school principals, vice principals, and senior educators. The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Secondary Education in Asaba, Ughelli, and Warri, focusing on improving school leadership, addressing learning gaps and strengthening educational administration.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Ezewu highlighted the theme of the workshop: “Learning  Gaps and Issues in the Secondary School Education System,” emphasizing its objective of equipping school leaders with innovative strategies to tackle the evolving challenges of modern education. She urged participants to actively engage, share experiences, and apply their learnings to enhance the quality of education in their respective schools.

Reaffirming the government’s dedication to educational development, Ezewu assured educators that necessary resources would be provided to drive meaningful improvements. She stressed that by prioritizing capacity building, the administration aims to equip teachers and school leaders with the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of 21st-century learners.

She encouraged participants to analyze the impact of technological advancements, policy reforms, and other emerging factors shaping the education sector. “The goal is to empower educators with insights that will enhance teaching quality, student performance, and overall school administration”.

Mrs. Ezewu commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering investment in education under his MORE Agenda, which prioritizes infrastructure development, teacher training, and policy reforms.

She emphasized the critical role of school administrators in ensuring that students receive a well-rounded, high-quality education, noting that effective leadership directly influences student success and the overall performance of the education system.

She expressed confidence that the workshop would lead to tangible improvements in school leadership, teaching standards, and student outcomes across Delta State.
