.As Civil Service Commission Holds Orientation Programme For Newly Recruited Staff

the Delta State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to bolstering its workforce and addressing unemployment challenges in the state.
Addressing newly recruited civil servants in Asaba, the Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his efforts to tackle unemployment.
Bayoko also commended the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission (CSC), Lady Roseline Amioku for overseeing a transparent recruitment process.
He observed that the commission ensured the selection of a diverse group of professionals, ranging from nurse tutors to architects and quantity surveyors, among other cadres.
The Head of Service noted that the vision of the state government was hinged on a workforce driven by merit, talent and integrity, adding that the MORE Agenda embodies the relentless pursuit of excellence and ensures that the public sector responds effectively to the aspirations of Deltans.
He admonished the inductees to hold themselves to the highest ethical standards and foster an environment of respect, treating others as they would wish to be treated.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Lady Roseline Amioku charged the civil servants to embrace the values of transparency, accountability and efficiency in all their dealings.
She charged them to strive for excellence and never lose sight of the fact that the trust and confidence of the public were earned through their actions, urging them to uphold the rule of law, respect diversity and treat all individuals with fairness and respect.
Amioku reminded the staff that they were stewards of public resources and servants of the people, adding that their primary duty was to serve the interest of the nation and its citizens and let their work be guided by the principles of impartiality, objectivity and always in the best interest of the public good.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Mr. Fredrick Yoro disclosed that the vision of the commission was to provide competent leadership that would make civil servants better.
Yoro said that the newly recruited staffers deployed in the state service include industrial officers, optometrists, program nurse tutors, health education, clerical officers, secretarial assistants, vet lab assistants, messengers, store attendants, security guards, watchmen, and cleaners, among others.
He commended the staff for their successful entrance into the civil service and hoped that they would contribute positively to the work assigned to them, adding that this gesture from the state government is a testament to the premium placed on the training and development of its workforce.
