Ebikeme Assures DLA Partnership To Actualise Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda In Riverine Areas

THE Commissioner, Directorate of Riverine Infrastructural Development, Chief Ebikeme Clark has said that the Directorate will work hard to ensure the state governor achieve his MORE Agenda in the riverine areas.

He made the remarks when the officials of Direct Labour Agency (DLA) paid him a courtesy call in his office in Asaba.

Chief Ebikeme said the directorate would work in synergy with DLA and other Ministries, Directorates and Agencies (MDAs), especially in their areas of specialization to move riverine communities forward.

The people of riverine communities, according to him, needed basic amenities that would encourage them to live in their communities and equally reduce rural urban drift.

While saying that business activities would flourish effectively in the riverine areas, if proper development is carried out, he said the directorate would work to ensure that the governor’s MORE Agenda of putting smiles on the faces of riverine dwellers was achieved.

Earlier in her address, the Director, Marketing of the DLA, Dr. (Mrs.) Peace Odiachi said she was in the commissioner’s office to identify with the directorate.

She noted that riverine communities have suffered so much, especially in the area of development, adding that DLA would work in collaboration with the directorate to develop the areas.

Dr. Odiachi said DLA was established in 1999 and that the agency was into construction and not only maintenance, urging the directorate to partner with the agency.

She lauded the commissioner on his appointment, adding that the commissioner’s job was enormous and prayed to God to grant him and his team the strength to achieve the governor’s agenda in the development of riverine areas.
