…Confirms Oshiomhole As Health Commissioner

EDO State House of Assembly has approved N486 billion as 2024 revised supplementary budget.
The approval followed the request for the passage of the 2024 Revised supplementary budget contained in a letter on November 13 from Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo for the continuous development of the state.
During plenary, the House also confirmed Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as commissioner for health, following the house consideration of the report of the committee on Rules of Business and Government House in a letter from Governor Monday Okpebholo on Wednesday containing name of the nominee.
Oshiomhole’s career has been marked by a mix of medical expertise and public health initiatives. His journey in the health care field began with his rigorous medical education which provided him with a solid foundation in clinical practice.
After his studies, he applied his knowledge in various medical and public health roles, focusing on addressing environmental and health crisis. His expertise in disaster management and toxicology has made him a valuable asset in developing policies for public safety and health responses.
Speaking shortly after his confirmation, he assured Edo citizens that he will collaborate with other ministries to ensure that Edo State has a robust healthcare sector.
According to him, “I have had the passion to serve my people especially after I lost my mum to breast cancer. This appointment will avail me this opportunity”, he said.
