Egbo Assures Isoko People Of More Projects As He Donates Furnitures To School

By Elohor Foghola

The member representing Isoko ethnic nationality on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Victor Egbo has assured the people of his mandate area that he will continue to work on more developmental projects that will accelerate growth and prosperity.

He said this, yesterday, when he donated 200 pieces of classroom furniture to St Michael’s College, Oleh in Isoko South local government area.

While presenting the items to the school, Chief Egbo pledged the commission’s willingness to intervene in the area of provision of educational materials and infrastructure to schools in Isoko.

He commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his commitment to improving the lives of people in oil-bearing communities.
“The Governor had empowered and mandated us to be focused in our area of operations in DESOPADEC; that we must be up and doing, a task he gave us on the day we were sworn in as DESOPADEC Board Members, and on that mandate, I stand.”

“We have renovated some classrooms in this school, and writing desks are here today. We are expecting more to come to this school because it is one of the oldest schools in Isoko Land.

“I hereby appeal to the students and the school authority to be committed to the projects we are executing here. One thing is to put a project in place, it is another to maintain the executed projects. Our efforts would be in vain if these items are not maintained,” Chief Egbo said.

Responding, the Principal of the school, Chief Mrs. Bridget Onojerame described the sorry state of the school to the commissioner.

“It was a horrible situation last term because there were no chairs for the students to sit on. I had to cry out to the Commissioner who obliged us with the chairs that were delivered today.

She commended the Governor, to the e Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Chief Egbo and the Board of DESOPADEC for the gesture and made a plea for more furniture to aid the students.
