THE new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Delta State, Corps Commander Fredrick Ogidan, has been advised to use his wealth of experience to improve on the operations of the Corps in the state.
The Chief of Staff to the Delta State Governor, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, made the call when Corps Commander, Ogidan led top officers of the State Sector Command on a courtesy visit to him at Government House, Asaba.
Hon Erijo noted that the new Sector Commander had built for himself a rich and intimidating profile suggestive of a vast experience in service, and could only come up with the necessary transformation of the Corps by bringing such experience to bear in the discharge of his duties
He commended FRSC for its diligence in road traffic management, which had helped to reduce road traffic crashes in the state, adding that the Corp’s prompt response to distress calls and assistance to accident victims were quite commendable.
While saying that bad roads constituted a major cause of crashes, Hon Erijo told the visiting FRSC delegation that the Delta State Government was deeply committed to road construction and rehabilitation, citing the Ughelli – Asaba dual carriage way, which had made motoring a delightful experience, and had helped to reduce accidents.
He pledged the readiness of the State Government to partner with the FRSC in the task of further reducing road accidents across the state.
Earlier, Corps Commander Fredrick Ogidan congratulated Hon Erijo on his appointment as Chief of Staff, pointing out that the visit was to familiarize himself with him.
Corps Commander Ogidan said the State Sector Command had remained committed to reducing accidents and deaths on roads across the state through regular patrols, ensuring that accident victims were taken to hospitals as quickly as possible and public enlightenment programmes, assuring that more successes would be achieved under his watch.
