THE Oshimili North Health Centre Okpanam is set to witness a major upgrade as the Chairman of Oshimili North LGA, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie visited the facility on his first working visit after his inauguration.
The Chairman in the company of the Councillors representing Okpanam Community, the youth president of Okpanam, Comrade Lucky Okolo and Council staff visited the Health Centre to take inventory of the facility.
Hon Esewezie spoke extensively with the matron and toured every part of the facility taking notes of what’s needed. He instructed works department to work out a plan to help bring the centre back to best standard as works well kick off in the quickest possible time.
The youth President who was highly elated thanked the Chairman and expressed hope that Okpanam community will witness a new phase of development under the leadership of Hon Esewezie’s second term in office.
It will be recalled that during his campaign visit to the community prior to the local government election, the youth President Comr. Lucky Okolo passionately appealed to the chairman to consider the rehabilitation of the healthcare facilities in the community as it was very dear to the people.
Comr. Okolo also told Hon. Esewezie at the rally that the community would appreciate any effort geared towards converting the former police station located by the Afor market to a recreational centre.
