THE National Coordinator, Eagle Watch for Good Governance (EWGG), Mr. Cletus Kwalekeme has recommended the re-absorption of dismissed military personnel with minor offences back to the Army as a measure to tackle insecurity in the country.
Kwalekeme, who stated this in Asaba, the Delta State capital, noted that the Bola Tinubu-led administration must take a holistic approach towards nipping insecurity in the bud. He said that when some of the erring military personnel were sacked, they would affect the society negatively by luring other individuals into crime, thereby making it difficult to win the war against insecurity and other crimes in Nigeria.
Kwalekeme also urged the federal government to effectively strengthen all the security architecture, including the military and the Police by training and equipping them with required knowledge and sophisticated weapons to be able to confront insecurity in all parts of the country.
The EWGG National Coordinator also commended the Topolo-led Tantita Security Services Limited for assisting the government of President Bola Tinubu to boost the nation’s oil production quota by securing the oil facilities and the waterways in the Niger Delta region and appealed to President Tinubu to give Tompolo a national honour in recognition of his selfless service to the nation.
Kwalekeme emphasised the need for President Tinubu to create a Joint Task Force Barracks in the Niger Delta land provide roads to connect all the oil facilities in Niger Delta, adding that JTF should be sited in the upshore area in Bayelsa State where he claimed there was vast acres of land over 100 acres of land in between Ndoro, Agoro and Pretoru.
He said that JTF camps should be located at different targeted areas. On the new board for the Niger Delta Development Commission, Kwalekeme explained that the Chiedu Ebie led NDDC was delivering its mandate and described their appointments as a step in the right direction.
He applauded President Tinubu for scrapping the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and replaced it with the Ministry of Regional Affairs to integrate all other regions in the country in which their various Commissions were part of the new Ministry for effective service delivery.
