In recognition of his immense legislative prowess, the member representing the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, has emerged as the Daily Independent Legislator of the year, 2024.
The prestigious award was presented to him by the authorities of the newspaper at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, over the weekend.
He was identified as having sponsored many significant bills and motions of urgent public importance, not just to the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, which he serves, but also beyond
The ebullient lawmaker was honoured along with Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu; Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde; Governors Usman Dodo of Kogi State; Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State; Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State; Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Bassy Otu of Cross River; and Prof Charles Soludo of Anambra,.
Other awardees were former Rivers Governor, Peter Odili; Chief Bisi Akande, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Festus Keyamo, SAN, Sen. Adams Oshiohmole, Alh. Bashir Adeniyi, Chairman and MD of NDDC, Access Bank, NDIC and Transcorp Hotels which got corporate awards, among others.
Accepting the award, Rt. Hon. Ezechi emphasized that the recognition was not a personal achievement, but a testament to the collective efforts and unwavering support of his constituents.
He expressed gratitude to God, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Delta State, his constituents, whom he described as his greatest source of inspiration, his family, the immediate past Governor of Delta State, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and his colleagues who joined him in the historic event.
