Ezewu Commends Schools In Udu For Organizing Nine Lessons And Carols

Delta State Commis­sioner for Basic and Secondary Ed­ucation, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has lauded the efforts of public secondary schools in Udu Local Government Area for organizing the first edition of the Com­bined Nine Lessons and Carols.

Ezewu, who was rep­resented by the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE), Udu Local Govern­ment Area, Mr. Ochuko Omosukofa, praised the commitment of the prin­cipals, teachers, and stu­dents in the council area. for making the event a Speaking at the event, the commissioner lauded the State Governor, Rt, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his unrelenting efforts in creating a conducive learning environment.

She highlighted Obor­evwori’s achievements, including promoting partnerships between public and private educa­tion ownerss and imple­menting his vision for the education sector.

The ceremony, which was held at Ovwian Secondary School Hall, brought together prin­cipals, vice principals, teachers, students, and educationists to cele­brate the festive season with lessons, carols, and special performances. In her message, Ezewu expressed gratitude to school administrators for their dedication to providing quality educa­tion and fostering unity among schools in the area.

She appealed to stu­dents to desist from il­legal activities that could endanger their lives this Yuletide season.

Ezewu urged princi­pals to key into the MORE Agenda of His Excellency by taking their jobs seri­ously.

In her remarks, the principal of Ovwian Grammar School, Mrs. Celestine Gary, speaking on behalf of the princi­pals, urged the students to prioritize their educa­tion and dismissed the notion that “education is a scam.” She encouraged them to remain hopeful and diligent, despite the current economic chal­lenges.

She mentioned that the first edition of the com­bined Nine Lessons and Carols is seen as a unify­ing platform for public schools in Udu, fostering collaboration and cele­brating the achievements of the education sector in Delta State.

The event featured Bi­ble readings, melodious renditions of Christmas carols and special per­formances by teachers and principals of public secondary schools in Udu. A notable highlight was a spirited Christmas carol presented by the principals themselves, showcasing their unity.

Students expressed gratitude to the organiz­ers for creating a memo­rable event, which was described as a refresh­ing way to usher in the Christmas.
