Festus Applauds Oborevwori Over Directive On New Minimum Wage

Senior Special Assistant to Delta Governor on Youth Mobilization, Comr. Festus Uwamagbe has commended Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori over his directive on the minimum wage, describing the decision as commendable and beneficial for workers in the state.

In an appreciation message shared with the press in Agbor, Delta State, over the weekend, Comr. Festus Uwamagbe, who doubles as Chairman of the Ika-NDO Host Communities Development Trust and the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Ika South Branch B, Abavo, commended the Governor for his bold decision to implement the new minimum wage.

He emphasised that the immediate approval of this wage reflects his commitment to enhancing the welfare of Delta State’s workforce.

“This laudable decision is a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s people-centric leadership style, which prioritises the needs of the citizens.

It’s a significant step towards alleviating the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians, particularly those in Delta State.

“The increased minimum wage will enable workers to better cater to their families’ needs and improve their overall quality of life. As workers earn more, they’ll have more disposable income to invest in local businesses, thereby stimulating economic growth in the State.

“This move reinforces the governor’s promise to deliver economic prosperity and improved standards of living for all citizens contained in his MORE AGENDA. By providing a higher minimum wage, the Governor’s administration is helping reduce poverty and inequality in Delta State,” he assured.

He used the medium to enjoin Deltans, especially the youths to rally around the MORE AGENDA of the State Government for youth inclusiveness in governance and empowerment.
