The Federal Government, has officially been handed over Nok University Kachia, by the Kaduna State Governor, via the Federal Ministry of Education.
The event took place on at the Conference room of the Minister of the Federal Ministry of education.
Speaking, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa said “The purpose of this conference is to witness the hand over of the certificate of occupancy from Kaduna State Government to the Federal Ministry of Education for the site of the Federal University of applied science kachia, which is about 200 hectares of land, will be given by kaduna government to the Federal government via the federal ministry of education.”
He stated that the Federal University of applied sciences kachia, will be offering course in nursing, pharmacy, medicine, applied sciences in the areas of applied mathematics, computer, AI, machine learning and environmental studies.
Dr Alausa commended the Governor of Kaduna State and the Senator representing Kaduna South senatorial district for choosing this university to be the Federal University of applied sciences, as it fits into the number one focal area of advancing STEMMS (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical sciences).
He appreciated their contributions to advancing the number one priority area of the education Ministry.
He further stated, that the National Assembly has already approved the capital budget, he stated, “We have also made the commitment to the Governor and the Senator, that this university will admit the first set of student this academic year of 2025”
As an icing to the cake, the Minister stated, “I will make sure that the University gets its tetfund allocation this year.”
The Governor of Kaduna State Sen Uba Sani, appreciated the Minister, Senator and everyone present as he stated that this is a project that will support not just the people of Kaduna State but generally.
He stated, that the Federal University of applied science is very special, because of the nature of the courses.
He thanked the Vice-president for his efforts in ensuring a smooth transition.
Speaking earlier, Sunday Marshall Katung, the Senator representing Kaduna South senatorial district, appreciated the efforts of everyone who played a role in ensuring a smooth take off, he said, “We have spent time together in trying to make sure that there is a smooth take off of the University.
